‘Life is a Bowl of Cherries, Magenta Sky’ by John D Edwards is a mixed media painting on canvas, completed in 2020.
“During the first lockdown in 2020 I painted a series of paintings which included “Isolation”. The first few I was happy with and they found their way to collections, but then they started getting a bit serious and political. So one day I sat down for lunch and thought, as I often do when I start getting a bit serious, “but what do I really want to paint?” On my kitchen table was a lovely bowl of cherries so I decided that’s really how I feel, so I started painting a series of “Life Is A Bowl Of Cherries” paintings.”
