Yellow Gradient is acrylic on canvas by Rodrigo Martin a contemporary Spanish artist making bold, geometric, abstract paintings.
Rodrigo Martin studied at the Fine Arts Faculty of Bilbao and completed his abstract formation in Barcelona. Currently he is developing a pictorial project in relation to his experiences, the true essence of reality and it's extensive plastic variety.
His pictorial work is focused on a continuous research of the 'essential', giving great importance to the symbolic nature of the painting itself. The works are based on basic shapes that blend with the gestural painting, creating different visual planes. Together they form two types of abstraction: the gestural and geometric abstraction.
Always present, black is the colour that guides the viewer through the works. In earlier paintings it was a dominant and uncontrolled element, but more recently it appears as a colour that still has presence but in a sporadic way with a more gentle, controlling force.
