Clare Crouchman is a ceramicist and printmaker based in Cambridge. Clare has studied both ceramics and printmaking and has an MA in Ceramics from the University of Wales, Cardiff. She runs a busy studio where, along with her hand produced prints, she creates unusual ceramic wall pieces. Her ceramic panels incorporate inlays of different clays which are subtly coloured with oxides and stains. She draws into the clay surface and adds subtle glazes result in richly textured, abstract surfaces.

The British landscape has always been an inspiration to Clare. It was from studying the abstracted patterns and textures in nature that led her to intuitively sensing an underlying order and ‘interconnectedness’ of all things. This in turn led to an interest in how the worlds of art, science and spirituality converge. The resulting rhythms and lines suggest an underlying network of integration that further reflect ideas in quantum physics that nature is an orderly process in the ‘chaos’ of the world.
